The Wisdom of Energy Work

“Energy work is used to help balance the systems of energy throughout the body to alleviate stress, ailments, and disease.”

What does it mean to perform energy work? When we perform energy work, we are physically and spiritually listening intuitively to our minds, body, and spirit, and the mind, bodies, and spirits of others to facilitate optimal vitality of all beings.

It's important to remember while learning and performing energy work is that we are the facilitators, not the healers.

People will heal when they are ready to. Healing occurs only to the limit of the person receiving the work.

As energy workers, you are assisting others in their healing by assisting in removing or aligning energy and giving energy.

The body is what responds to your energy work and is the mechanism in which the healing takes place. The body shifts and responds accordingly to the work being done.

All bodies are powerful, beautiful, and incredible machines that deserve the credit of self-healing capabilities.

Reiki is one of the most common forms of energy work. “Reiki is a type of energy healing. Energy healing targets the energy fields around the body. According to practitioners, energy can stagnate in the body where there has been a physical injury or possibly emotional pain. In time, these energy blocks can cause illness.”

Reiki is a great resource to use in order to understand where there are blocks or stagnant energy in the body. During a Reiki session, the Reiki master or practitioner typically places their hands on the areas of the body where they believe energy is blocked or needed. This facilitates a boost in energy to that area. Commonly, an energy block will be located in one or more of the seven chakras. Chakras are energy centers located throughout our body.

You don’t have to go to a Reiki master or practitioner in order to have energy work done. You also have the power to take energy work into your own hands!

Simple, yet effective ways to conduct energy work on oneself include, mindful breathing and breathwork, working with crystals, using Palo Santo or Sage, and moving your body by doing yoga or exercise!

Energy work is something that needs to be taken seriously. When we have blocks or stagnant energy in the body, it can cause dis-ease. Energy work is a form of self-care and self-love. Take time to listen to your mind, body, and spirit. Connect with your intuition! If we don’t face our energy blockages, we are denying ourselves a healthy mind, body, and spirit and that isn’t fair.

We hope this information is helpful, inspiring, and encourages you to take taking healing into your own hands or the trusted hands of others to facilitate!

Much love & light,
