Meditation has proven benefits and its important to take time to find a meditation practice that works well for you.

If you’re new to meditation, we want you to know that there are several different types of meditations you can practice. Meditation offers many benefits and increases your mental health.

Below are 6 types of meditations and their proven benefits, courtesy of Mindfulness Space, a workplace mindfulness business out of Canada.

We suggest taking the time to give any of these a try! Figure out what you need out of meditation practices and act accordingly.

 

-6 Meditation Techniques-

Guided~ A relaxing meditation where someone guides your body and mind into deep relaxation through mental imagery and spoken word.

Benefits:Profoundly deep relaxation which helps affect positive personal changes like curing negativity, fear or stress.

Mindful~ Focused attention and awareness on the present moment by watching your natural breath and natural occurring thoughts.

Benefits: A key element to creating happiness and acceptance of self in the present moment without judgment.

Mantra~ A word or series of words repeated over and over and over again, silently or out loud.

Benefits: Reduces anxiety and depression while boosting immunity and its soothing all at the same time.

Energy~ A combination of specific breathing patterns and specific visualizations practiced simultaneously.

Benefits: Increases physical energy quickly along with the subtle energy bodies to increase one's life-forces vibration.

Kundalini~ A powerful form of meditation combining Mantra and Mudra (hand positions) and sometimes movement.

Benefits: Revitalizes and purifies the nervous system while rejuvenating the brain and body, therefore, enhancing consciousness and releasing self-destructive behaviors and addictions.

Breathing~ Yoga breathing techniques repeated over and over often including words or numbers to assist.

Benefits: Creates a calm, clear and spacious mind which results in physical rejuvenation and a peaceful outlook.”

 

Meditation is a powerful practice that produces positive effects. Knowing different types of meditation practices give you the power to choose what works best for you. Meditation doesn’t have to be hard or intimidating. It’s really whatever you make it! Give it a try, it might surprise you!
