Full Moon in Sagittarius June 2019 - Inner Healing

June 16, 2019

Happy Full Moon, sister! We're honored to have Astrologer Katya Weiss-Andersson here on the GoddessCeremony Team sharing her astrology insights for this Full Moon in Sagittarius!

Remember the relative ease we were feeling during the new moon a couple weeks ago? Yeah, that’s gone. That’s been gone. Most of us are feeling like we’ve been thrown back into chaos and inner turmoil- but I promise, there’s fun to be had here.

Let’s get the heavy stuff out of the way and talk about what we’ve been going through this past week:

-Mars, still in angsty Cancer, opposed Saturn. This is an especially prominent (read: difficult) aspect. It’s been causing folks to feel big stress, big agitation, big pressure, big frustration, big heaviness. There’s a sense being tested and failing, or of not being able to rise to the challenges of all we need to get done.

-With Mars trine Neptune and the Sun opposing Jupiter, we’ve been brought up close and personal with our relationship to self-doubt.

-Mercury opposing Saturn gave us some extra negative self-talk and additional feelings of hopelessness around creative endeavors and communication.

Phew.

But this full moon marks a significant and auspicious time- even a jubilant one. Meeting us at 10:31am ET today, this full moon is in the bold, vivacious, independent, adventurous and fun fire sign of Sagittarius. We’re still in Gemini season (Full Moons happen in the sign opposite where the sun is in the zodiac), which adds to the social, lively energy of this time. The Summer Solstice in right around the corner, and many are celebrating Pride month. How do we embrace all the fiery, celebratory energy waiting for us while we’re in the middle of slogging through the mental-emotional trenches?

Yes, we do have to confront our own depths: the patterns we’re allowing ourselves to continue, the lessons we may or may not have integrated into our actions, the motivations driving us and the excruciating false narratives like “I’m not enough” that we may still be telling ourselves. We do need to keep working towards our dreams with discipline and intention, while simultaneously being very gentle with ourselves. We cannot let ourselves fall victim to hopelessness.

Full disclosure, the ups and downs will continue: the ominous aspect of Jupiter square Neptune will bring us some reality checks. Saturn sextile Neptune will help us out by boosting our self-efficacy, belief in ourselves, and ability to do the things without being naive. Mars conjunct Mercury will give us clear thinking and the alignment of the primal with the cerebral, but can also give us the pitfall of being too defensive and aggressive.

Let this Full Moon be an opportunity to face yourself and the things lingering below the surface. Be mindful of how you're feeling and take this space to touch each emotion that arises. Now is the time to ride the waves.

Here are three ways to celebrate this full moon~

-Meet your emotions by journaling. Journaling is usually a suggestion for the new moon time, but it’s especially crucial right now. It’s going to be hard to repress your feelings right now, and that’s the point. They’re meant to come to the surface. For many, it feels like too much at once, with old and new traumas coming to the surface. Writing it all down allows us to take inventory of what’s going on and how to deal with it.

-Exercise in a way that feels nourishing to your body. Mars is at the core of a lot of this inner turmoil, and Mars needs physical activity to settle down from angsty chaos. Whether it’s a vigorous yoga class, a run or a power lifting session, let it come from a place of celebrating your body and moving energy in a big way.

-Do something celebratory with others. Dance, connect and embrace the fluid energy of the Full Moon time.

There is TRIUMPH on the other side of all this. I’m talking that kind of dreams-come-true victory. Stay present, stay brave and stay celebrating.
