Reflections Teaching at the Northwest Yoga Feast
This July I was blessed to be invited to teach at the Northwest Yoga Feast in Northern Idaho. Over the last few years, I've begun to step into the festival scene and guide sacred workshops and yoga classes at festivals all over the country, and this festival truly touched me in a way I didn't think possible.
Held in Northern Idaho, this festival called to me for a number of reasons. Tucked away in nature on beautiful private land and surrounded by wilderness, I felt called to connect with the earth and disconnect. This festival also offered 3 organic meals each day (a huge blessing not normally included at festivals!) and a variety of workshops and offerings that spoke to me.
I set out from Salt Lake City to drive the 11 hours to Sagle, ID and found myself in a state of awe and bliss as I drove through rural Utah, Montana and Idaho. I arrived on Thursday afternoon to meet the other teachers and enjoy a beautiful opening dinner. Connecting with powerful leaders from around the country reminded me of my purpose and mission, and I was so grateful to meet like-minded guides and healers.
On Friday afternoon, guests began to arrive to this magical property and together we gathered for our opening circle. I was honored to be invited to join in the opening circle by dressing in white and drumming as we called in the directions and set intentions for our weekend together.
I was honored to teach two workshops at this yoga festival: partner yoga - a fun and upbeat class where we have fun playing with variations of yoga poses with our community - and Wild Goddess Yoga - my signature yoga class that combines breath work, movement, intention and healing as we connect to the Divine Feminine that lives within each of us. I was honored to teach to such an incredible group of students that were eager to connect and understand themselves at a deeper level.
The connections I made throughout the weekend were truly incredible. Meeting like-minded men and women with huge visions and insights was such a gift. I am grateful to have made so many new friends and to have new connections with fellow teachers in Idaho, Washington, Montana, Canada and beyond.
I am already excited to join the Northwest Yoga Feast for their 2020 retreat next Summer! So grateful to all of the amazing human beings who have created this healing container for people to gather.
Want to join me at a festival this year? I'll be announcing my full 2019 festival line-up soon!
With so much love,
