Astrology is, “the study of the movements and relative positions of celestial bodies interpreted as having an influence on human affairs and the natural world”.
In Astrology, the zodiac is “an area of the sky that extends approximately 8° north or south of the ecliptic, the apparent path of the Sun across the celestial sphere over the course of the year. The paths of the Moon and visible planets are also within the belt of the zodiac”. The Sun spends about 30 days crossing through each of the 12 zodiac constellations. While the Moon only spends about 2 and a half days crossing through each zodiac. Another aspect of this includes your Rising sign, also called your Ascendant, which refers to what sign was rising over the Eastern Horizon when you were born.
Therefore, one has the ability to calculate exactly what zodiac sign the Sun, Moon, and Ascendant was in at the time of their birth. This can be calculated by knowing the month, day, year, exact time and location of birth. This is called a Birth Chart also known as a Natal Chart.
The Sun represents the Self, your personality, sense of will and vitality. The Moon represents your emotions or inner self. And your Rising represents a general impression of how others see you based on your appearance or attitude.
Each of the zodiac signs possesses a unique set of said characteristics and qualities. Looking into these can be fun and entertaining! I find it very interesting but don’t take it too seriously!
