Full Moon in Cancer December 2018 and Winter Solstice
During this auspicious time of the year of light and dark, the moon expands into her Full Moon wisdom early in the morning on December 22nd, 2018. Peaking during the sacred Winter Solstice, 2018 comes to an end with a powerful lesson and reminder for all of us.
The Full Moon in Cancer reaches its peak at 9:48AM Pacific Time as the veil of the Winter Solstice begins to lift and change. This watery moon time may be bringing up emotion, transition, old wounds and a deep call to remember something deep within. It is certainly no coincidence that this powerful moon is our last Full Moon of 2018. Deep change and transformation has begun.
With this alignment of the Solstice and Cancer Full Moon, change is certainly in the air. Relationships are falling apart. Opportunities and jobs are being abandoned. Parts of ourselves are being thrown into the fire. There is so much intensity around us right now with the impending new year and this initiatory time is necessary for us to walk through. While the Solstice veil surrounds us, we are being beckoned to heal, reclaim and remember.
The Winter Solstice falls on December 21st, 2018 and is a deeply auspicious and sacred day of the year. The Winter Solstice, or Yule, has been celebrated for thousands of years as the shortest and darkest day of the year. It is a powerful day to recognize our shadow and our darkness but also to celebrate the coming light and transition towards Spring.
The Winter Solstice is key to the Divine Feminine. The feminine has long been described as the mystery, the dark and the untamable and these qualities also describe Yule. Sister, what needs to be seen during this sacred time of the year? Is your shadow empowering you or limiting you? Have you allowed yourself to peer into the cavern and really see what's there?
The greatest message that I feel with this alignment of the Cancer Full Moon and Solstice is this:
It is time to let go of the story that you are not good enough. This story is not serving you or anyone else. Heal this wound. Let go of this story. Burn away the limiting beliefs. The world needs you to rise. 2019 will hold many massive changes for the Divine Feminine and we need you, dear sister, to do this work with us. Now is the time to rise.
On this Solstice and Full Moon, get quiet and do the work. Look within. Peer into the darkest corners of your being and fearlessly see what exists there. Before we can rise, we must look at our roots.
Let's rise, sister.
Here are 3 ways to Honor and Celebrate this Sacred Time ~
-Create a sacred space at your altar and reflect on the last year. How have you changed? Who have you become? Journal on what you celebrate from this last year and also what you choose to release from the last year. On the darkest day of the year, journal on your shadow, your wounds and your stories and let them become a catalyst for healing.
-Get quiet and meditate with your womb space. Lay your hands over your womb, or uterus, and close your eyes. If you still feel shame connecting to your most sacred space, this is a powerful place to begin your healing. With your hands over the Divine Feminine essence that lives within you, ask yourself what you want to birth with the coming season? How do you want to rise? What can you contribute to this world? How can you honor the Feminine and support your sisters in the world?
-Honor the Winter Solstice by making a wreath, lighting candles or making a gratitude list. These are all traditional ways of honoring Yule the way your ancestors likely did for hundreds of years.
Thank you for an incredibly 2018, sister. We are so grateful for you in our community. We will see you in the coming year.
