New Moon in Libra October 2018 - Becoming the Healer of Our Own Stories

On October 9th, 2018, the sacred moon wanes into the New Moon phase. Aligning in the air sign Libra, we are reminded of the importance of self love and rising as the healer of our own stories.

The New Moon in Libra initiates us into October. We are in a phase of death, renewal, change and rebirth with the coming Sacred Holy day Samhain (also known as Hallow's Eve) at the end of the month so change and transition are already deeply rooted themes for this moon time.

The New Moon in Libra is a powerful reminder to tune into the heart and to unapologetically take inventory of ourself and our lives. The seasons are changing and with Venus in retrograde, a massive theme of self care and self love are reflected to the surface.

With this New Moon, you have a powerful container held for you to tune into a new paradigm of deep, unconditional inner love. This love is not rooted in ego or any sort of grandiose image; rather it is a love that reminds us of our significance and purpose here in this world. By loving ourselves, we also take the first step in loving another being on this planet. Without deep inner love for ourselves, loving others is virtually impossible.

How can you show up for yourself and become the healer of your own story? When we allow self love to radiate from our beings, we realize that we are the only people in the world who can change us and redirect the trajectory of our lives.

Sister, now is the time to RISE as your own healer, to reclaim your relationship with yourself and to allow a limitless flow of inner love to radiate from you. This is your birthright.

Here are 3 ways to celebrate this Sacred New Moon in Libra ~

1. Pull out your journal and start to take inventory about all things in your life. The New Moon offers us the space to let go of the things that are no longer serving us and to make space in our lives for better things to align. What is no longer working for you? What takes away from your ability to rise? Where can you shift so that you have more time for self love and self care? You can read more about the specific wisdom of New Moons here and how to do a releasing ceremony.

2. Weave more self care into your daily practice. With every New Moon, it's HUGELY important to practice some form of self care. As we cultivate more love for ourselves, self care becomes second nature. Carve out some time to rest, go for a walk, enjoy a beautiful meal or read a favorite book. Last night I rolled out my yoga mat for 45 minutes and just allowed myself to flow. What do you need right now and how can you honor that? See our blog post about 33 ideas for self care during a New Moon here.

3. Remember that you are the hero of your own story. If you desire to change your story, you hold the power to create lasting change. If you desire to heal, take the first step. Find a practitioner to support you or begin your healing journey alone. When we remember that we are the hero of our own story, we become empowered. If you're looking for a great book to read on the subject, I recommend Louise Hay's book You Can Heal Your Life. It's a must read!

May this New Moon offer you the space to cultivate deep inner love and awareness. Trust that you are loved and supported and that all is well.

In gratitude,
