Travel is perhaps the most life changing experience that any human being can embark on. This world is full of so many beautiful sites, sacred lands and hidden gems.
I've been blessed to travel a lot in my life and see many exotic, beautiful places. Three places in particular though have stood out to me as particularly sacred for women and the Divine Feminine. These 3 sacred places are ones that I would consider to be powerful pilgrimages if you want to understand the Goddess and yourself on a deeper level.
1) Guatemala
Sacred Guatemala. This place forever has a place in my heart. Guatemala was the land that held me the first time I went to a women's circle and a massive catalyst on my life of travel and healing.
There is just something magical about Guatemala. Perhaps it's the wild jungle. Perhaps it's the beautiful Mayan people who still inhabit this gorgeous land. Perhaps it's the volcanos. I think it's a bit of everything.
El Lago de Atitlan, or Lake Atitlan, is a hugely feminine site that carries a lot of magic. It's no wonder why so many people from all over the world travel to this lake to watch transformation touch them. People often report a lot of intensity when they first arrive to the lake. Some feel repelled by the energy initially and want to leave, but if they stay around for a week or so, they eventually find themselves feeling at home.
If you visit Guatemala, I recommend spending time on the lake, perhaps in San Marcos (my favorite spot!), or wandering the cobblestone streets of Antigua.
2) Bali
This incredible Indonesian island is such a sacred gem. Many have felt called to visit Bali after reading Elizabeth Gilbert's Eat, Pray, Love but there's so much more to this country than finding love.
Bali's green rice fields, rocky beaches and warm people make it a destination that people go back to time and time again. While Bali may not be thought of as a deeply Goddess-esque site, there's a lot of feminine energy on the island.
If visiting, I recommend exploring Ubud and Tirta Gannga (the sacred water palace).
3) Hawai'i
What list would leave out sacred, powerful Hawaii? These gorgeous islands in the heart of the Pacific Ocean are filled with the energy of the Goddess Pele. The Big Island has a huge Divine Feminine energy but all of the islands do and the influence can be felt differently on each island.
Amid the black rocky shores, the wild crashing waves and thick foliage, you may feel closer to Mother Earth than ever before. There's many sacred traditions and folklore to these islands and their people.
I recommend visiting the Big Island and exploring around Pahoa. There are magical black sand beaches near there that inspire the wild feminine within.
Of course, there are many more places that could also be added to this list! Costa Rica for example has a wonderful feminine energy but also a fair amount of masculine energy. Costa Rica is one of my favorite places to balance both the masculine and feminine aspects of myself.
