Nutrient Dense Superfood Smoothie Recipe ~ Nourishing and Filling!

I am a huge smoothie fan and enjoy making a smoothie part of my morning routine each day. I am constantly trying new recipes and switching up my daily smoothies and this is my go-to most days.

Smoothies are amazing because they provide a simple way to get nutrient dense foods into your body. Smoothies can also help mask things like chlorella that ordinarily would not taste good and yet within a smoothie go unnoticed.

You'll need ~

-12 oz of water

-1 ripe banana

-1 cup of organic frozen fruit*

-1 to 2 scoops of collagen peptides

-1 scoop of organic protein powder

-1/4 c organic hemp seeds

-1 tbsp chlorella powder (or 10 drops of chlorophyll)

-1/4 tsp of sea salt

-small sprinkle of stevia powder

*Frozen fruit can be any kind you like! I typically use organic frozen mangos or blueberries.

How to make it ~ -Blend all ingredients together in a high speed blender like a Vitamix or BlendTech


If you are paleo or ketogenic:

I recommend Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides because they are high quality, provide extra protein and will do wonders for your hair and skin health! Collagen is deeply nourishing for the joints as well and so if you like to run or be active, collagen will support your body in rejuvenating and healing.

If you're looking for a good protein powder, I personally use Dr. Axe's Organic Bone Broth Protein. Made from organic bone broth, (one of the most healing substances on earth!) this protein powder is unique because it does not contain whey or eggs.

If you are vegan or vegetarian:

You can opt out of the collagen peptides and instead add some extra hemp seeds to your smoothie. If you are also adding chlorophyll to your smoothie, you'll be flooding your body with powerful antioxidants and minerals.

If you are looking for a good vegan protein powder, I like Sunwarrior Protein Powder. I used to be a huge fan of Garden of Life's protein powders, however they were recently bought out by Nestle and thus I no longer trust their quality or commitment to health.

Other optional things to add in:

If you are seeking to make the most nutrient dense smoothie possible, you can add in things like:

-bee pollen


-goji berries

-almond butter

-homemade organic nut milk


-wheatgrass powder
