How to make your own Full Moon Bath Salt

Creating your own sacred bath salt during the Full Moon or any sacred time is an empowering way to nourish your body and offer self care. By mixing together nourishing natural salts, herbs, essential oils and flower essences, you can create an incredible bath salt mix to enjoy during the sacred moon times.

Some choose to make one batch of bath salts and use it with each new moon or full moon over the next year. Other women choose to make one small batch for each sacred time and use it when she needs it. It is truly up to you - there is no wrong way to make your own sacred blend.

Beyond making it just for a full moon or new moon, you could also make it during a lunar eclipse or during a sacred time like Ostara, Yule or Imbolc. These energies will resonate within your bath salts and support you later.

Making your own bath salt:

You'll need:

-2 cups of epsom salt

-1 cup of pink himalayan sea salt

-1 cup of aluminum free baking soda

-dried herbs (rose, lavender, lemon balm, mugwort, jasmine, red raspberry leaf are all great options)

-flower essence of choice (I love using Evening Primrose flower essence to call in sacred feminine energy and wisdom

-essential oils of choice (lemon, lavender, orange, peppermint, geranium and rosemary are all lovely to use)

Making your sacred salt blend:

-Mix together the epsom salt, sea salt and baking soda

-Sprinkle in dried herbs of choice - up to 1/4 cup or so

-Add 5 drops of your flower essence

-Add 5-10 drops total of your essential oils

-If you have written out a sacred intention or manifestation, lay that paper in the bowl with your salt blend. Add a prayer, blessing or intention if you would like.

-Lovingly pour into a small glass jar and use as needed

If you used essential oils or flower essences, do note that they may not last more than 2 months or so. Bath soaks should be used within a month or so of creation.

-BONUS sacred touch: after you have placed your salt blend into the jar and covered with a lid, set your jar outside, preferably touching the earth, overnight underneath the moon. This will add lunar magic to your creation.

You can also use crystals to magnify the intentions of your bath salt. After you have placed your bath soak in a jar and covered with a lid, you can lay a piece of quarts or amethyst on top of the jar for a day or so.

My favorite blend for a new moon bath soak includes geranium essential oil, patchouli essential oil, 5 flower formula, elm flower essence, dried rose petals and dried red raspberry leaf.

My favorite blend for a full moon bath soak includes peppermint essential oil, orange essential oil, evening primrose flower essence, dried lemon balm and dried yarrow.

Making a sacred bath salt can be a powerful way to celebrate the full moon with your sisters!

What blend did you create? We would love to hear your recipe!

With gratitude,
