October 15, 2016 we are blessed to witness a Super Moon in Aries. This fiery moon holds the space for us to let go before fully moving into the Fall and Winter months.
Super Moons occur when the moon is closest to the earth and often we feel a deeper connection to the moon during this time. We may feel magnetized to it and experience deeper shifts than usual. The moon also appears larger in the sky, almost calling to us to notice her, to remember her sacred light.
Traditionally, the October Full Moon was called the Blood Moon or the Hunter's Moon.
It is interesting to watch all of the energies moving and shifting during this Full Moon just as we are entering the gates of Fall and Winter. The 7th traditional holiday of the year, Samhain, falls on November 1st and fully propels us into Winter and a time of inwardness. We are witnessing a huge moment of change and shifting energies. Things are transforming with the season, letting go and moving inward.
2016 for me has awakened such a huge sense of transformation. If I could pick a word to describe this entire year so far, I would pick "SHIFTING". So much is changing. So much is transforming. So much is awakening to a new sense and a new level.
With this Aries Full Moon, we are feeling the shifting energy, but in a more fierce and cord cutting way than most of us are used to. Aries is all about FIRE. Things are quick, cutting and bold. In this lunar time we are being called to LET GO. To really let go and fully do so. Aries isn't a soft and loving energy, she is powerful. We can harness this energy if we choose to use it positively and in a much needed way.
We can choose to let this be the time we let go once and for all, to let go of that cord or attachment. Powerful time.
Now is a good time to reevaluate the things in your life that feel really difficult or soul sucking. A job, a person, an idea.
And as we always see with fire, now is a good time to also awaken a new level of passion! What has been calling to you in your work or gifts? Using this powerful energy to ignite a new passion, a new career or new space to thrive is a great way to use an Aries energy.
We cannot fear the fiery cord cutting Aries, we just need to learn how to use this powerful energy in a nourishing way.
So what does this all mean?
Let go. Invite in. Step forward. It's time.
