Being a Conscious Woman in an Unconscious World
I wish we all lived in a world where we were all met with respect, reverence, love and gratitude, but sometimes it seems we are far from it. There can be a lot of darkness in this world, but there can also be a lot of light.
The conscious men and women of the world are the lightbearers, the beacons of hope for our modern world. And we need more of them.
I’ll be the first to admit, it is not always easy to live in a conscious way. Most of us were raised witnessing unhealthy patterns and behaviors that were programmed into us. It is very hard to unprogram yourself. But if you are tired of operating in the same way and tired of watching relationships fail for the same reasons over and over, then you know it’s time to begin the work.
Holding a grudge was one of my biggest downfalls that I had been subconsciously programmed to do. If someone was unkind to me during middle or high school, I just wouldn’t speak to them… for days. This harboring of anger and resentment did not harm those people, however… it only hurt me. So after I watched a couple romantic relationships dissolve because of my lack of communication skills, I knew I needed to change. And I’ll be honest, it was hard. It’s hard to stop doing something you’ve always done. These patterns are engrained into our brains and getting rid of them can take a while, but it is so worth it. I am very grateful to be able to say that I don’t hold grudges anymore or hold onto anger inside of me, and if I do, it’s for a couple minutes and then I release it. Done. Phew.
The difference between conscious people and unconscious people is conscious people want to do better, they recognize their weaknesses and consciously choose to change.
Here are a few characteristics to start embodying that will help transform any negative patterns that you see in your life and attract more light in your life-
Learn to walk a mile in another beings’ moccasins. Practice empathy and love when dealing with unconscious men and women and send them light on their journey. Some people are just not ready to change, and so it can be a great lesson to learn how to love someone right where they are.
Yes, I know, much easier said than done, but this one is huge. Holding onto a time you were wronged or a person you don’t like is not hurting them. It is only hurting you. And what you think about and dwell on is what you attract more of! So why would you want to bask in anger and darkness? The next time someone apologizes to you for something, accept it and thank them. Be the bigger person and love them for the human they are. Humans make mistakes.
Begin to make yourself consciously aware everyday of your many blessings in your life. This can be for anything – your bed, your car, your beautiful smile, your delicious lunch, your favorite necklace – literally anything you appreciate and are grateful for. Consciously thank the Divine daily for your blessings or make a gratitude journal and write down what you are grateful for each day.
Compassion. Forgiveness. Gratitude. These are 3 key elements that define a conscious woman and propel her on her journey to her Wild Woman and the Sacred Feminine.
Change is hard and it takes time, but it is worth it. You deserve to live consciously and full of light.
